Breezzo – Buprofezin 15% + Acephate 35% WP
Breezzo is an insecticide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Buprofezin 15% w/w and Acephate 35% w/w as a wettable powder (WP) formulation. It is used for the control of Brown planthopper and White-backed planthopper in paddy (rice). Buprofezin acts as an insect growth regulator, while Acephate is a systemic organophosphate insecticide, together providing combined action against sap-sucking pests.
Buprofezin 15% + Acephate 35% WP is also registered for use in cotton and okra against jassids, thrips and whitefly. As a wettable powder, Breezzo is mixed with water before spray application, and should be used strictly as per the crop, pest, dose and timing recommendations on the approved product label.

This combination product acts through two complementary mechanisms. Buprofezin is an insect growth regulator that inhibits chitin synthesis, disrupting nymphal moulting in sap-sucking insects (IRAC Group 16). Acephate is a systemic organophosphate that inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, causing accumulation of acetylcholine at nerve synapses and leading to paralysis and death of the insect (IRAC Group 1B). Together, they provide combined growth-regulating and knockdown activity against planthoppers.
Breezzo (Buprofezin 15% + Acephate 35% WP) is mixed with the recommended volume of water and applied as a foliar spray directed at the base of the plant canopy in paddy, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
