- Contains Topramezone 33.6% as the active ingredient
- Formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC)
- Herbicide category product for weed management
- Registered use in maize
- Controls a broad spectrum of grassy and broad-leaved weeds
- Applied with a recommended MSO adjuvant; HPPD-inhibiting mode of action
Topramezone belongs to the pyrazolone chemical group and inhibits the enzyme 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD), which is required for carotenoid biosynthesis in plants. Blocking this enzyme leads to bleaching and eventual death of susceptible weed tissue, as carotenoids can no longer protect chlorophyll from photo-oxidative damage. Topramezone is classified under HRAC/WSSA Group 27 (HPPD inhibitors) and is applied with a methylated seed oil adjuvant to aid uptake.
Mezonex (Topramezone 33.6% SC) is diluted in the recommended volume of water together with a methylated seed oil (MSO) adjuvant and applied as a post-emergence foliar spray in maize, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
