Rovix – Paclobutrazol 23% w/w (25% w/v) SC
Rovix is a plant growth regulator manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Paclobutrazol 23% w/w (25% w/v) as a suspension concentrate (SC) formulation. It is applied as a soil/collar drench in mango to reduce the inter-node length of new shoots and promote earlier formation of the terminal bud, favourably influencing fruit bud production, fruit colour and harvest yield. Application is made after fruit harvest, any time from July to October.
Unlike a foliar spray PGR, Rovix is applied to the soil near the tree trunk (furrow or collar drench), and the dose depends on tree age rather than a fixed per-hectare or per-acre rate. As per the approved product label, the dose is 15 ml per tree for trees 7–15 years old, 20 ml per tree for trees 16–25 years old, and 25–40 ml per tree for trees over 25 years old.

- Gibberellin-biosynthesis-inhibiting mode of action
Paclobutrazol is a triazole-type plant growth retardant that inhibits the biosynthesis of gibberellins by blocking the enzyme ent-kaurene oxidase, a key step in the gibberellin biosynthetic pathway. When applied as a soil drench, it is taken up by the roots and translocated to shoot tips, reducing cell elongation and restricting vegetative shoot growth, which favours earlier terminal bud formation and reproductive development in mango.
Rovix (Paclobutrazol 23% w/w SC) is diluted in the specified volume of water and applied as a soil or collar drench in a furrow near the tree trunk in mango, after fruit harvest, following the tree-age-based dose given on the approved product label.
