Droom – Dinotefuran 15% + Pymetrozine 45% WG
Droom is an insecticide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Dinotefuran 15% and Pymetrozine 45% as a water dispersible granule (WG) formulation. It is used for the control of Brown Plant Hopper and White Backed Plant Hopper in rice. Dinotefuran and Pymetrozine act through two different mechanisms on the sap-sucking pest’s nervous and feeding systems.
As a water dispersible granule, Droom is mixed with water before spray application. The product is intended for use strictly as per the approved crop, pest, dose and timing recommendations on the product label for rice.

This combination product acts through two complementary mechanisms. Dinotefuran is a neonicotinoid that binds to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) in the insect nervous system, causing continuous nerve excitation and paralysis (IRAC Group 4A). Pymetrozine is a pyridine azomethine compound that selectively disrupts the feeding behaviour of sap-sucking insects by affecting sensory nerve function, causing insects to stop feeding and eventually starve (IRAC Group 9B). Together, they provide combined systemic and feeding-inhibition activity against planthoppers.
Droom (Dinotefuran 15% + Pymetrozine 45% WG) is mixed with the recommended volume of water and applied as a foliar spray directed at the base of the plant canopy in rice, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
