Tivoxy – Tembotrione 34.4% SC

Tivoxy is a herbicide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Tembotrione 34.4% as a suspension concentrate (SC) formulation. It is used for the post-emergence control of weeds such as Trianthema portulacastrum, Echinochloa sp. and Brachiaria sp. in maize. Tembotrione is a triketone herbicide that disrupts pigment synthesis in susceptible weeds.

As a suspension concentrate, Tivoxy is diluted in water before spray application. The product is intended for use strictly as per the approved crop, weed, dose and timing recommendations on the product label for maize.

CROP Common Name of Pest Dosage / Acre Dilution in Water (L/acre) Waiting Period (Days)

  • Contains Tembotrione 34.4% as the active ingredient
  • Formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC)
  • Herbicide category product for weed management
  • Registered use in maize
  • Controls grassy and broad-leaved weeds
  • Post-emergence, HPPD-inhibiting mode of action

Tembotrione belongs to the triketone chemical group and inhibits the enzyme 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD), which is required for carotenoid biosynthesis in plants. Blocking this enzyme leads to bleaching of new growth and eventual death of susceptible weed tissue, as carotenoids can no longer protect chlorophyll from photo-oxidative damage. Tembotrione is classified under HRAC/WSSA Group 27 (HPPD inhibitors).

Tivoxy (Tembotrione 34.4% SC) is diluted in the recommended volume of water and applied as a post-emergence foliar spray in maize, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.

  • Use strictly as per the directions on the approved product label
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during mixing and spraying
  • Avoid spray drift onto sensitive or non-target crops
  • Keep out of reach of children and away from food, feed, and water sources
  • Store in a cool, dry place in original packaging
