Maxxquin – Quinalphos 25% EC

Maxxquin ( Quinalphos 25% EC ) is an insecticide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Quinalphos 25% as an emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation. It is used for the control of Brown plant hopper in rice (paddy). Quinalphos is an organophosphate insecticide that acts on the nervous system of susceptible insect pests, and is also registered for hispa/blue beetle, leaf folder and stem borer in rice.

Quinalphos 25% EC is also registered for use in a wide range of crops, including sorghum, wheat, gram, groundnut, soybean and jute. As an emulsifiable concentrate, Maxxquin is diluted in water before spray application, and should be used strictly as per the crop, pest, dose and timing recommendations on the approved product label.

Quinalphos is an organophosphate insecticide that inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, which is responsible for breaking down the neurotransmitter acetylcholine at nerve synapses. This inhibition causes acetylcholine to accumulate, leading to continuous nerve stimulation, paralysis and death of the target pest. Quinalphos is classified under IRAC Group 1B (organophosphates).

Maxxquin (Quinalphos 25% EC) is diluted in the recommended volume of water and applied as a foliar spray in rice, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
