Darati – Imazethapyr 70% WG
Darati is a herbicide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Imazethapyr 70% as a water dispersible granule (WG) formulation. It is used for the post-emergence control of weeds such as Cyperus rotundus, Echinochloa spp., Dinebra retroflexa, Digera spp., Brachiaria mutica, Commelina benghalensis, Commelina communis, Euphorbia geniculata and Cyanotis axillaris in soybean, applied at the 2–3 leaf stage of weeds. Imazethapyr is a systemic imidazolinone herbicide.
As per the approved label, Darati is applied together with a recommended surfactant (such as Cyspread) at 1.5 ml/L of water and ammonium sulphate at 2 g/L of water, to improve efficacy. It is diluted in water before spray application, and should be used strictly as per the crop, weed, dose and timing recommendations on the product label for soybean.

Imazethapyr is an imidazolinone herbicide that inhibits the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme, which is required for the biosynthesis of the branched-chain amino acids valine, leucine and isoleucine in plants. Blocking this enzyme halts cell division and growth, leading to the gradual death of susceptible weeds. Imazethapyr is classified under HRAC/WSSA Group 2 (ALS inhibitors).
Darati (Imazethapyr 70% WG) is diluted in the recommended volume of water together with the specified surfactant and ammonium sulphate, and applied as a post-emergence foliar spray at the 2–3 leaf stage of weeds in soybean, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
