Spintra 45 – Spinosad 45% SC
Spintra 45 is an insecticide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Spinosad 45% as a suspension concentrate (SC) formulation. It is used for the control of American bollworm in cotton. Spinosad is a spinosyn-class insecticide derived from the fermentation of a soil actinomycete, acting on the insect nervous system.
Spinosad 45% SC is also registered for use in chilli against fruit borer and thrips, red gram against pod borer, and brinjal against fruit and shoot borer. As a suspension concentrate, Spintra 45 is diluted in water before spray application, and should be used strictly as per the crop, pest, dose and timing recommendations on the approved product label.

Spinosad is a spinosyn-class insecticide derived from the fermentation of the soil actinomycete Saccharopolyspora spinosa. It acts on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors at a binding site distinct from that of neonicotinoids, and also affects GABA-gated chloride channels, leading to hyperexcitation of the insect nervous system, paralysis and death. Spinosad is classified under IRAC Group 5 (spinosyns).
Spintra 45 (Spinosad 45% SC) is diluted in the recommended volume of water and applied as a foliar spray in cotton, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
