Captomaxx – Captan 50% WP
Captomaxx is a fungicide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Captan 50% as a wettable powder (WP) formulation. It is used for the control of Early blight and Late blight in potato. Captan is a phthalimide fungicide that acts as a multi-site protectant against fungal pathogens.
Captan 50% WP is also registered for use in apple, cherry, grapes and tomato. As a wettable powder, Captomaxx is mixed with water before spray application, and should be used strictly as per the crop, disease, dose and timing recommendations on the approved product label.

Captan is a phthalimide fungicide that acts as a multi-site protectant. It interferes with fungal cellular respiration and enzyme function by reacting non-specifically with thiol (sulfhydryl) groups in fungal cells, preventing spore germination and inhibiting the establishment of infection. Because it acts at multiple sites rather than a single target enzyme, Captan is classified under FRAC Group M4 (multi-site inhibitors), a group associated with a low risk of resistance development.
Captomaxx (Captan 50% WP) is mixed with the recommended volume of water and applied as a protective foliar spray in potato, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
