Polomaxx – Pymetrozine 50% WG
Polomaxx is an insecticide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Pymetrozine 50% as a water dispersible granule (WG) formulation. It is used for the control of Brown plant hopper in paddy (rice). Pymetrozine is a pyridine azomethine insecticide that selectively disrupts the feeding behaviour of sap-sucking pests.
As a water dispersible granule, Polomaxx is mixed with water before spray application. The product is intended for use strictly as per the approved crop, pest, dose and timing recommendations on the product label for rice.

Pymetrozine is a pyridine azomethine compound that selectively disrupts the feeding behaviour of sap-sucking insects, including planthoppers, by affecting sensory nerve function. Affected insects stop feeding shortly after exposure and eventually starve, even though the compound does not act directly on the nervous system in the manner of typical neurotoxic insecticides. Pymetrozine is classified under IRAC Group 9B (chordotonal organ modulators).
Polomaxx (Pymetrozine 50% WG) is mixed with the recommended volume of water and applied as a foliar spray directed at the base of the plant canopy in rice, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
