Capxa – Captan 70% + Hexaconazole 5% WP

Capxa is a fungicide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Captan 70% and Hexaconazole 5% as a wettable powder (WP) formulation. It is used for the control of Early blight and Late blight in potato. Captan and Hexaconazole act through two different mechanisms, providing combined protectant and systemic disease control.

Captan 70% + Hexaconazole 5% WP is also registered for use in chilli, black gram, cumin and tomato. As a wettable powder, Capxa is mixed with water before spray application, and should be used strictly as per the crop, disease, dose and timing recommendations on the approved product label.

  • Contains Captan 70% + Hexaconazole 5% as active ingredients
  • Formulated as a Wettable Powder (WP)
  • Fungicide category product for disease management
  • Registered use in potato, among other listed crops
  • Controls early blight and late blight
  • Dual mode of action: multi-site protection and ergosterol biosynthesis inhibition

This combination product acts through two complementary mechanisms. Captan is a phthalimide fungicide that acts as a multi-site protectant, reacting non-specifically with thiol groups in fungal cells to prevent spore germination (FRAC Group M4). Hexaconazole is a triazole (DMI) fungicide that inhibits ergosterol biosynthesis by blocking the 14α-demethylase enzyme, disrupting fungal cell membrane formation (FRAC Group 3). Together, they provide combined protectant and systemic disease control.

Capxa (Captan 70% + Hexaconazole 5% WP) is mixed with the recommended volume of water and applied as a protective foliar spray in potato, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.

  • Use strictly as per the directions on the approved product label
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during mixing and spraying
  • Avoid spray drift onto sensitive or non-target crops
  • Keep out of reach of children and away from food, feed, and water sources
  • Store in a cool, dry place in original packaging
