Thio Maxx – Thiophanate Methyl 70% WP
Thio Maxx is a fungicide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Thiophanate Methyl 70% as a wettable powder (WP) formulation. It is used for the control of Ring rot in tomato. Thiophanate methyl is a benzimidazole-precursor fungicide that is converted within the plant to carbendazim, which disrupts fungal cell division.
Thiophanate Methyl 70% WP is also registered for use in papaya, apple, bottle gourd and grapes against powdery mildew, scab, anthracnose and rust. As a wettable powder, Thio Maxx is mixed with water before spray application, and should be used strictly as per the crop, disease, dose and timing recommendations on the approved product label.

- Registered use in tomato, among other listed crops
- Controls ring rot
- Beta-tubulin-inhibiting mode of action
Thiophanate methyl is a benzimidazole-precursor fungicide that is converted within fungal cells to carbendazim, its active metabolite. Carbendazim inhibits beta-tubulin assembly during mitosis, disrupting fungal cell division and halting pathogen growth. Thiophanate methyl is classified under FRAC Group 1 (benzimidazoles).
Thio Maxx (Thiophanate Methyl 70% WP) is mixed with the recommended volume of water and applied as a foliar spray in tomato, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
