Pretilachlor is a chloroacetamide herbicide that inhibits the synthesis of very-long-chain fatty acids (VLCFAs), which are essential for cell membrane formation in germinating weed seedlings. It is absorbed mainly through the coleoptile and young shoots of germinating grasses, sedges and certain broad-leaved weeds, disrupting cell division before or shortly after emergence. Pretilachlor is classified under HRAC/WSSA Group 15 (VLCFA inhibitors).
Harvest Maxx (Pretilachlor 37% EW) is diluted in the recommended volume of water and applied as a pre-emergence spray to the soil surface in transplanted rice, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
