Haloron – Halosulfuron Methyl 75% WG
Haloron is a herbicide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Halosulfuron Methyl 75% as a water dispersible granule (WG) formulation. It is used for the control of Cyperus rotundus (purple nutsedge) in sugarcane. Halosulfuron methyl is a systemic sulfonylurea herbicide, particularly effective against sedge weeds.
Halosulfuron Methyl 75% WG is also registered for use in maize and bottle gourd against Cyperus rotundus and Cyperus iria. As a water dispersible granule, Haloron is mixed with water before spray application, and should be used strictly as per the crop, dose, timing and weed recommendations on the approved product label.

Halosulfuron methyl is a sulfonylurea herbicide that inhibits the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme, which is required for the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids in plants. It is particularly active against sedges such as Cyperus rotundus, where it disrupts growth and eventually leads to plant death. Halosulfuron methyl is classified under HRAC/WSSA Group 2 (ALS inhibitors).
Haloron (Halosulfuron Methyl 75% WG) is mixed with the recommended volume of water and applied as a uniform spray in sugarcane, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the timing recommended on the approved product label.
