- Contains Thiamethoxam 25% as the active ingredient
- Formulated as a Water Dispersible Granule (WG)
- Insecticide category product for pest management
- Registered use in rice, among other listed crops
- Targets a broad spectrum of pests including planthoppers, stem borer and thrips
- Systemic, nicotinic acetylcholine-receptor mode of action
Thiamethoxam is a neonicotinoid insecticide that binds to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) in the insect central nervous system. This causes continuous nerve excitation, leading to paralysis and death of the target pest. As a systemic compound, it is absorbed and translocated within the plant, providing protection against a broad range of sap-sucking and boring pests. Thiamethoxam is classified under IRAC Group 4A (nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonists).
Maxxion (Thiamethoxam 25% WG) is mixed with the recommended volume of water and applied as a foliar spray in rice, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
- Use strictly as per the directions on the approved product label
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during mixing and spraying
- Avoid spray drift onto sensitive or non-target crops
- Keep out of reach of children and away from food, feed, and water sources
