Maxxban – Chlorpyriphos 20% EC
Maxxban is an insecticide manufactured by MaxxGro Agrology Limited, containing Chlorpyriphos 20% as an emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation. It is used for the control of Aphid, Bollworm and Whitefly in cotton. Chlorpyriphos is an organophosphate insecticide that acts on the nervous system of susceptible insect pests.
Chlorpyriphos 20% EC is also registered for use in rice (paddy), sugarcane, groundnut, mustard, brinjal, cabbage, onion, beans and gram. As an emulsifiable concentrate, Maxxban is diluted in water before spray application, and should be used strictly as per the crop, pest, dose and timing recommendations on the approved product label.

Chlorpyriphos is an organophosphate insecticide that inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, which is responsible for breaking down the neurotransmitter acetylcholine at nerve synapses. This inhibition causes acetylcholine to accumulate, leading to continuous nerve stimulation, paralysis and death of the target pest. Chlorpyriphos is classified under IRAC Group 1B (organophosphates).
Maxxban (Chlorpyriphos 20% EC) is diluted in the recommended volume of water and applied as a foliar spray in cotton, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
