Propineb is a dithiocarbamate fungicide that acts as a multi-site protectant. It interferes with several fungal enzyme systems, disrupting cellular metabolism and preventing spore germination in a manner similar to other dithiocarbamates such as mancozeb and ziram. Because it acts at multiple sites rather than a single target, Propineb is classified under FRAC Group M3 (dithiocarbamates), a group associated with a low risk of resistance development.
Xenith (Propineb 70% WP) is mixed with water to the concentration specified on the approved product label (0.30%, or 300 g per 100 L of water) and applied as a foliar spray in potato, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, with spray volume adjusted to crop growth stage.
- Use strictly as per the directions on the approved product label
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment during mixing and spraying
- Avoid spray drift onto sensitive or non-target crops
- Keep out of reach of children and away from food, feed, and water sources
- Store in a cool, dry place in original packaging
